Stores In Cuyahoga County Could Soon Charge Customers For Plastic Bags

An ordinance unveiled last night would call for a ten-cent-per-bag fee for shoppers who use a store’s plastic bags instead of paper or reusable sacks. Supporters of the measure say proceeds will support cleanup efforts on Lake Erie and keep bags out of landfills. Critics say it could cost 24-thousand Ohio bag factory workers their jobs.
